Linux Versus Windows 10

Linux Versus Windows 10 and 8.1 I used to be a fan of Linux and found it a far more robust and quicker operating system than MS Windows. In the last year I became drawn back into the Windows environment as my old Linux based laptops started dying and I had to replace them.  I replaced them with second-hand machines, laptops, which mainly were sourced on EBay, and as I wasn t drawn to buying a secondhand Mac the machines I bought obviously had MS Windows installed. As I used to work in IT I have a good awareness of good build quality and what is available so for general use  and as a desktop replacement I bought a 17inch Sony Vaio, it has: CPU-Z       Binaries   CPU-Z version 1.75.0.x64     Processors   Number of processors 1 Number of threads 8     APICs   Processor 0      Core 0          Thread 0 0          Thread 1 1      Core 1          Thread 0 2          Thread 1 3      Core 2          Thread 0 4          Thr

Calderdale Rising Day Five

Calderdale Rising Day Five Kirsty McGregor has cleverly organised and coordinated the Crowdfunding Campaign for flood affected Calderdale Businesses. This is an update from Kirsty on Day Five of the Campaign, I am coordinating publicity for the CrowdFunding page for people to donate to help us reach our target and help small businesses that have been so badly affected by the Floods of 26th December 2015. My specific focus has been with Silly Billy s Toy Shop where I work. If you are interested in my SEO and SMM Services then take a look at my website. This is the latest press release I wrote for Silly Billy s Day 5 on way to £113k and 187 backers…conversion rate for info (pages views to pledges) is 4%. I asked if that was okay & Crowdfunder replied: “The average conversion rate is 5%, so considering you will be getting a fair bit of looky-loo traffic due to being featured on the page that s really fantastic!” We are currently not the featured project – they have some big one

Does it make a difference what day of the week you do Rune Work?

The Runes are the alphabet of the ancient Norse and the Germanic Peoples. They are part of the Indo European invasions that reached out to India, Spain, Ireland and Britain as well. All the Indo-European peoples had the same god or goddess ruling each day of the week, and it was considered auspicious or inauspicious to do rune Work on different days. But is there the danger this is formulaic or legalistic? Shouldn’t we do rune work as an expression of our deep authenticity and our true will? – and who was the Norse God of Saturday??? Michael Conneely, author of the novel Rune Magic available on Amazon, talks about uses of the Runes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GWCKiv8stU www.rune-path.com

The Revenant

The Revenant I watched The Revenant yesterday with my lovely girlfriend. An interesting film with some extremely graphic scenes of violence and possibly an accurate portrayal of life as it was in the pioneering times of the Americas, based upon a true story of which you can read more here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/film/the-revenant/leonardo-dicaprio-hugh-glass-true-story/ This is not a film review but rather a review of what emotions were stirred in me as a result of watching the film. Interestingly enough, like a lot of people, I have felt drawn to the American Indians, no one tribe in particular. I remember as a child I had a hardback book about Native Americans and was completely transfixed by it at times. Similarly I was transfixed by the Revenant, it takes a lot for a movie to draw me in that much. In the main the film was set in the winter and a cold bleak winter it was too, some of the scenes of landscape and chilling cold were compelling. Within though my absolutely abhorren
